5 & 10 Towns - Neighborhood Brief
Cooksville, PeelCooksville is a bustling community located in Peel, Ontario, and is popular for its commercial establishments. Named after noted entrepreneur Jacob Cook, Cooksville was initially known as Harrisville. It was renamed Cooksville in the year 1836. The community of Cooksville is also called “Four Corners” due to the Dundas and Hurontario cross streets. The community grew well in 1852 until a fire accident destroyed a large part of the village. It was in the year 1968 that Cooksville joined many other villages in Toronto to form the now-existing Mississauga town.
Cooksville is now a vibrant and multicultural community with townhouses, detached homes, apartments, shopping plazas and industrial and commercial establishments. The locality also has beautiful parklands called Cooksville Creek Trail and Cooksville Park.
