East Credit Neighbourhood Overview

East Credit epitomises suburban living, surrounded by rows of subdivisions filled with modest brick family homes boasting two-car garages. Major highways and arterial roads cut through the region, featuring prominent landmarks such as the Heartland Town Centre, one of Canada's largest malls, and the River Grove Community Centre, offering a swimming pool, a gym, and community meeting spaces for various programmes. Previously, the Streetsville community, located to the north of East Credit, was considered a part of it. Prior to the opening of the Britannia landfill along Terry Fox Way, south of Britannia Road West, in 1980, the area was primarily farmland. In 2002, the landfill was shut down and the BraeBen Golf Course, featuring an 18-hole championship course and a 9-hole par-3 course, took its place. Over time, East Credit has seen significant changes and has become a popular neighbourhood. It offers a variety of educational institutions, medical facilities, and entertainment venues, contributing to its status as a real estate hotspot.
