This town was established in the 19th and early 20th centuries. The name for the Meadowvale township was given on the basis of the meadows along the Credit River. This village used to be visited by Group of Seven Artists A.Y Jackson and A.J Casson who used to paint the nearby scenes. Later on, a multi-lane controlled access was created for Macdonald-Cartier Freeway which was also known as Kings Highway 401. Meadowvale was incorporated into the town of Mississauga in the year 1968.This locality is built adjacent to a large business park area in Mississauga.
