Streetsville, Peel
Streetsville, Peel Streetsville, a neighbourhood of Mississauga, Ontario, Canada, is situated on the Credit River in the city’s northwest and has a population of 47,327. Despite taking up both the west and east banks of the river, the majority of Streetsville is situated there. It was a town before the 1974 amalgamations that created the City of Mississauga, and by preserving a range of historical structures and streetscapes, it aims to maintain a “small town” appeal. Two major Mississauga thoroughfares that pass through Streetsville still retain their original names, i.e. the Bristol Road and the Mississauga Road. They are called Main Street and  Queen Street respectively. This is an initiative to uphold local identity in a distinctive manner, as opposed to the larger city-scape.
